Lakshmi Priya, the baby elephant of Mayapur

Lakshmi Priya is a young elephant cared for by the village of Mayapur. The family friend I was staying with took me to visit her. As an animal-lover extraordinaire, I was very excited to have non-zoo time with such an exotic species. She lived up to every one of my expectations, and more. Adorably playful and attention-craving, her personality shined through immediately.
